General Manager​/Operations manager

General Manager - Service Mechanical Subcontractor

Base pay: $150,000 - $190,000 per year.

We are seeking an experienced General Manager to lead a high‑performing building services team. This role is responsible for driving operational excellence, financial performance, and a strong safety culture. You will inspire and develop teams, foster customer relationships, and ensure exceptional service delivery across all projects and contracts.

• Lead the business unit with a growth mindset, identifying new opportunities and driving strategic initiatives.
• Champion a safety‑first culture, ensuring compliance with all regulations and proactive hazard prevention.
• Oversee recruiting, talent development, and career planning for team members.
• Manage budgets, financial performance, and resource allocation to meet or exceed goals.
• Collaborate with sales and account managers to secure renewals and drive business development.
• Ensure quality control, process improvement, and customer satisfaction across all services.
• Direct planning and execution of projects to deliver on time and within budget.

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or related field (preferred).

• 10+ years in building services operations, maintenance management, or service‑based project sales, including leadership experience; OR 15+ years without a degree.
• Deep knowledge of building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing) and life‑cycle cost management.
• Strong understanding of compliance standards (OSHA, NFPA, ASHRAE) and industry best practices.
• Proven ability to lead teams, manage budgets, and deliver operational excellence.
• Excellent communication skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
