Veterinary Referral Associates (VRA), Gaithersburg, Maryland. Located just outside Washington, DC, offering a vibrant mix of suburban comfort, cultural opportunities, and outdoor recreation.

• Conduct comprehensive patient exams and medical work‑ups.
• Communicate effectively with clients, educating them on dermatologic conditions and treatment plans.
• Maintain accurate medical records and pharmacy duties including prescribing medications and managing controlled substance protocols.
• Promote teamwork and staff efficiency across the hospital.
• Collaborate with Hospital Manager on weekly priorities and expectations.
• Evaluate and monitor hospital protocols for intake to discharge, attending daily rounds when possible.
• Participate in practice management updates and training at all levels.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

• Veterinarian degree (DVM or VMD) from an accredited college or university.
• 1‑year rotational internship in small animal medicine, surgery, or ER.
• Completed a 3‑year AVMA approved residency program.
• Current State Veterinary License.
• DEA registration obtained and maintained.
• Strong diagnostic and clinical skills.
• Ability to work well in a team‑oriented environment with exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
• Commitment to providing compassionate and high‑quality veterinary care.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform moderately physically demanding work.

• Board Certification.
• 2‑5 years of post‑residency experience.
• Clinical knowledge and skill in comprehensive physical exam and diagnosis.
• Problem‑solving and ability to develop solutions in a high‑quality veterinary hospital.
• Effective communication of diagnostics and therapeutic options to clients and staff.
• Business acumen and understanding of practice management.
• Ethics, professionalism, and commitment to continuing education.

Pay Range: $200,000 — $250,000 USD.
