LocationVeterinary Referral Associates (VRA), Gaithersburg, Maryland. Located just outside Washington, DC, offering a vibrant mix of suburban comfort, cultural opportunities, and outdoor recreation.
Responsibilities- Conduct comprehensive patient exams and medical work‑ups.
- Communicate effectively with clients, educating them on dermatologic conditions and treatment plans.
- Maintain accurate medical records and pharmacy duties including prescribing medications and managing controlled substance protocols.
- Promote teamwork and staff efficiency across the hospital.
- Collaborate with Hospital Manager on weekly priorities and expectations.
- Evaluate and monitor hospital protocols for intake to discharge, attending daily rounds when possible.
- Participate in practice management updates and training at all levels.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
- Veterinarian degree (DVM or VMD) from an accredited college or university.
- 1‑year rotational internship in small animal medicine, surgery, or ER.
- Completed a 3‑year AVMA approved residency program.
- Current State Veterinary License.
- DEA registration obtained and maintained.
- Strong diagnostic and clinical skills.
- Ability to work well in a team‑oriented environment with exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
- Commitment to providing compassionate and high‑quality veterinary care.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform moderately physically demanding work.
- Board Certification.
- 2‑5 years of post‑residency experience.
- Clinical knowledge and skill in comprehensive physical exam and diagnosis.
- Problem‑solving and ability to develop solutions in a high‑quality veterinary hospital.
- Effective communication of diagnostics and therapeutic options to clients and staff.
- Business acumen and understanding of practice management.
- Ethics, professionalism, and commitment to continuing education.

Pay Range: $200,000 — $250,000 USD.
