Part‑time Associate – Personal Shopper

This is a part‑time position at Harris Teeter. The primary responsibility is to provide excellent customer service, support the Personal Shopper program, and maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming store environment.

• Customer Service
  • Deliver the highest level of customer service. Never be rude to a customer under any circumstance.
  • Follow through on customer requests. If you cannot say “yes” to a customer’s request, contact the manager‑on‑duty.
  • Your full focus is required on the customer and bagging their order.
    • Make eye contact with and smile at every customer.
    • Speak to customers in a genuine, clear, and enthusiastic manner.
    • Greet every customer and accompanying family members (especially children).
    • Always tell customer “thank you for shopping with us today!”
• Maintain work area, download internet orders, shop online orders, operate the Point of Sale Register, bag orders and stage orders.
• Communicate in English with customers and fellow associates about requests, promotions, and essential products.
• Be reliable and punctual; report for work on time and notify management 2 hours in advance if you cannot work as scheduled.
• Keep the store clean; comply with health department requirements and follow sanitation procedures (clean restrooms and other areas as directed).
• Follow all safety regulations; report accidents and safety hazards in the designated log.
• Comply with company standards, policies, and procedures and perform essential job functions throughout scheduled hours.

• Minimum age 18 years.
• Valid Driver’s License and must be bondable.
• Must be willing to participate in required training and work with the team to increase customer satisfaction and sales.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and write simple correspondence in English.
• Mathematical skills: add and subtract two‑digit numbers and calculate discount percentages.
• Reasoning ability: apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed instructions.
• Physical: be able to stand, walk, use hands to finger, reach with arms, and lift up to 25 lbs, intermittently 50 lbs, occasionally 75 lbs. Reach from 6 to 72 inches. Specific vision required: close vision and depth perception.

• Pay range: $18.00/hour to $20.10/hour for a newly hired associate.
