Position
Description:
The General Maintenance Technician II leads and performs daily work orders, small capital projects, routine preventative maintenance, routine work, new installations, and cleanup.
Position
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent GED.
- Three (3+) years’ experience general maintenance work and/or a combination of education and experience.
- Valid Driver’s License.
- Knowledge of safety procedures and equipment.
- The ability to read, understand and communicate, both verbally and written
- Must be able to communicate effectively.
- Basic computer skills such as internet, email, electronic manual, etc.
- Must be able to take initiative.
- Able to focus on attention to detail and follow instructions.
Preferred Qualifications:
- OSHA 10 Certification or higher.
- CPR & First Aid Certification.
- Poses a Certified Maintenance & Reliability Technician (CMRT) Certification.
- Lead and perform mid-level HVAC and electrical mechanics in performing intermediate preventative maintenance (PM) tasks on equipment, examining for wear and tear, and making required repairs as needed.
- Performs intermediate PM tasks on items such as roof drains, shop cleanup, and all other assigned areas.
- Adheres to applicable safety rules.
- Trains other General Maintenance Technician/Trade partners with intermediate activities such as painting and priming of interior and exterior walls, hanging, and finishing sheetrock, hanging white boards, installing fixtures, etc.
- Remain current with industry standards, best practices, and new technology.
Physical Work Classification & Demands:
- Heavy Work. Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
- The individual in this position will periodically walk, kneel, sit, crouch, reach, stoop, read/see, speak, push, pull, lift, stand, and finger/type. The frequency of each action varies by workflow and field activity.
- Walking - The person in this position needs to frequently move about the jobsite.
- Sometimes operates a computer or tablet and other office machinery, such as a calculator and phone.
- The person in this position frequently communicates with employees and external stakeholders regarding a variety of topics related to office and field administration.
- Constantly reads written communications and views mail submissions. Will also need to read blueprints and take/verify field measurements.
