Overview

Are you interested in an exciting opportunity to join the Scottish Public Pensions Agency (SPPA) busy Communications team?

The SPPA is an Agency of the Scottish Government which is responsible for administering four major public sector pensions schemes – police, firefighters, NHS and Teachers – for over 600,000 members. The Communications Assistant role sits within the SPPA Communications team which is part of the Strategy, Governance and Communications division.

You will support the Internal & External Communications Managers in developing and delivering effective communications across key channels, including Saltire. You will create and deliver tailored internal campaigns, manage and coordinate SPPA branding and style principles. You will also help strengthen how the SPPA communicates externally with partners, stakeholders and scheme members by contributing to the development of communications and producing multimedia content for a range of public‑facing channels.

Responsibilities
  • Support the Internal Communications Manager in managing key channels, including our intranet and assist in delivering internal campaigns that engage and inform staff.
  • Support the External Communications Manager with reviewing how SPPA communicates with partners, stakeholders, and scheme members and assist in delivering campaigns that inform our external audiences.
  • Support the production of clear and accessible communications for internal and external audiences.
  • Lead on maintaining and updating SPPA branding and style guidelines.
  • Develop video and other multimedia content for events and public-facing channels.
  • Work flexibly to meet competing priorities in a busy environment and deputise for Internal or External Communication Managers when required.
  • Deputise for the Internal & External Communications Managers in areas of internal and external communications, providing opportunities to expand and grow professional experience and expertise.
