Intake Specialist – Hillsville – Search​/Transport

At Life Center of Galax & Life Center of Galax – Hillsville we specialize in helping individuals find purpose and develop the skills necessary to actualize long-term recovery from substance use disorders. We are looking for individuals who desire the opportunity to help save lives while feeling challenged and professionally enriched on a daily basis.

Primarily responsible for this position is searching incoming admissions luggage and transporting the admitting patients to their assigned campus. Will also be trained on all of the standard intake responbilties stated in additional data.

• Review prospective admissions against approved admission criteria, policies and procedures.
• Initiate contact to gather required clinical and demographic data from patient and other sources.
• Respond promptly to inquiry calls.
• Schedule assessments.
• Conduct pre-admission assessments.
• Assist prospective patients and significant others in seeking treatment.
• Refer inquiries to other agencies and community resources when not appropriate for facility assistance or admission.
• Coordinate with referral sources.
• Coordinate transportation arrangements for patients.
• Responsible for maintaining all the documentation involved with the admissions process.

• Maintains regular and predictable attendance.

• High-school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• 1 — 2 years of experience in a patient care environment in a substance use/behavioral health setting, is preferred.
• Must have excellent communication and customer service skills, and an ability to use required computer programs.

• De‑escalation training, CPR and/or First‑Aid certification as required by facility
