Kinder Morgan, Inc. is one of the largest energy infrastructure companies in North America, leading in natural gas pipelines, product pipelines, CO2, and terminals. They seek a Security Guard to protect facilities and ensure safety.
Job OverviewSecure the company’s terminals, monitor visitors, coordinate with CIMA, and perform safety orientations. The role requires responsiveness, safety awareness, and support during incidents.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Account for all people entering the plant.
- Conduct perimeter checks to ensure the facility is secure.
- Staging office/security during incidents.
- Monitor CIMA radio and contact CIMA during incidents.
- Perform safety orientation for visitors/3rd parties.
- Monitor contractors/3rd parties for safety violations.
- Function as historian during incidents.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalency.
- Must possess and maintain a valid motor vehicle operator’s license and a driving record satisfactory to the company and its insurers.
- Must pass and complete safety training/certification required by customers and by Kinder Morgan at all locations.
- Must obtain and/or meet all requirements to enter foreign trade zones (e.g., background checks by U.S. Coast Guard and Department of Homeland Security, and obtain a Transportation Workers Identification Card (TWIC)).
- The successful candidate will be required to clear a drug screen and a complete background check after an offer has been extended and prior to employment.
- Valid motor vehicle operator’s license.
- Safety training/certification as required.
- Transportation Workers Identification Card (TWIC) if required.
- PC literacy and software navigation skills in a Windows-based environment.
- Effective verbal communication with all levels of management.
- Willingness to work outdoors and in adverse weather.
- Willingness to work overtime, including weekends, holidays, and at short notice during the week.
- Ability to work rotating shifts, including day, night, weekends, and holidays.
- Regular attendance and punctuality.
- Willingness to work as part of a team, take direction from supervisors, prioritize work schedules, focus attention to detail, and follow work rules.
- Exposure to outdoors in adverse weather conditions.
- Work in confined spaces and elevated work areas; heights in excess of 5 feet.
- Previous experience in a chemical, refining, or terminal setting.
