The Department of Corrections is seeking a highly motivated professional to serve as the Business Administrator at Hill Correctional Center. This position will supervisor a large subordinate staff in dedicated business office roles. In this role you will be managing a fiscal operation within a multi-million-dollar organization while maintaining strict security protocols.
Essential Functions:
- Serves as the Business Administrator.
- Serves as full-line supervisor.
- Administers, implements, and directs accounting functions.
- Administers, implements, and monitors purchasing functions.
- Remains up-to-date and in compliance with applicable standards of Commission on Accreditation, Administrative Regulations and Directives, Procedures Manual, Statewide Accounting Management System Manual and Local Business Procedure Manual.
- Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of four (4) years college, preferably with courses in business or public administration.
- Requires prior experience equivalent to three (3) years of progressively responsible administrative experience in fiscal operations for a public or business organization.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prefers more than three (3) years of experience managing and overseeing a multi-million-dollar budget for a large organization (500 or more employees)
- Prefers more than three (3) years of experience performing full range of fiscal functions, which include Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Financial Reporting, within a large organization (500 or more employees)
- Prefers more than three (3) years of experience utilizing automated financial systems for financial reporting, property control, inventory management and voucher processing
- Prefers at least three (3) years of experience with contract establishment, contract monitoring, and procurement processes
- Prefers at least three (3) years of supervisory experience
- Prefers at least three (3) years of professional experience managing and responding to auditors
