Press Brake Operator

Press Brake Operator Job Responsibilities Include

• Setup and operate computer programmable/controlled brake press machines
• Must be able to plan and layout bending sequence, referring to drawings and blueprints
• Bend products or assemblies of small, light average weight, to large heavy weight
• Request assistance on large or heavy sheet metal blanks
• Setup up metal dies in performing operations in forming
• All parts must be bent to close tolerances
• Requires aligning, fitting and adjusting parts to meet operating requirements
• Troubleshoot and rework pieces that fail tests
• Assist Engineering Personnel in modification, parts substitution, and revisions
• Possible required minor machine maintenance procedures
• Coordinates orders on by ship date. Quality control is a requirement.
• Performs other duties as assigned by manager

• Ability to read and understand blueprint and diagrams
• 1-2 years previous experience
• Ability to use basic hand tools and gauges and grinders
• Minimum HS diploma or equivalent
• Must pass manufacturing basic skills exam
• Good math and reading skills

• Ability to work in a standing position up to 6 hours
• Lift up to 70 pounds with or without assistance, bend, twist and reach
• Ability to read gages, drawings, machine settings, etc.
• Ability to grip, twist wrist and tighten hands
