Our client is currently seeking a Food Safety Quality Supervisor for their recently upgraded Food Manufacturing facility near Galesburg IL. The FSQ Supervisor will provide specialized knowledge of specific segments of quality systems and plant processes such as food safety, quality auditing, instrumentation, specific product line knowledge, computer systems, management of oversight of suppliers and other needed focus areas. The principal responsibility is to assure that the Food Safety & Quality Management System (FSQMS) is fully implemented & functional and that the facility and products meet safety & food regulatory requirements.

This company is in a growth mode & has made significant Capital contributions towards this plant that will allow them to achieve an SQF Certification, which is the goal.

• Conduct verification and maintenance of the food safety and quality systems, hazard analysis and sanitation processes, prerequisite programs, manufacturing processes, plant environment and finished product.
• Ensure adherence to corporate, regulatory, customer and facility food safety and quality requirements and completion of corrections and corrective actions.
• Participate in relevant local and regulatory food safety-focused audits
• Function as an active member of the food safety team and work closely with the FSQ Manager to implement, maintain and review the food safety management system.
• Support food and feed safety management systems and their compliance to appropriate government regulations.
• Investigate and follow up on food safety incidents that occur in the plant to ensure proper reporting and that corrective and preventive actions are taken.
• Independently solve moderately complex issues with minimal supervision, while escalating more complex issues to appropriate staff.
• Support and verification of the 3-stage review process for finished product release.
• Manage food safety and quality training—specifically around continuous improvement or maintenance of the MPF quality management system.
• Collaborate with operations on the initiation of corrective action and preventative measures when necessary

• Bachelor's Degree in Food Safety, Microbiology or Related Field
• 3+ Years of Food Safety / Quality Experience in Food / Beverage Manufacturing
• HACCP and/or PCQI Certifications preferred
• Strong Organizational Skills – Ability to Multi-task
• Experience with FDA and/or USDA Regulatory Compliance & Audits
