Overview
Join Our Team at Avita Health System - Avita Galion Hospital. Avita Health System serves Crawford and Richland counties with three hospitals and numerous clinics. We are expanding and currently seeking a dedicated Certified Pharmacy Technician to join our Inpatient Pharmacy Department at our Galion location
.
The Inpatient Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) works within the hospital pharmacy department and assists pharmacists in preparing and distributing medications to various hospital departments. Assists the pharmacist by preparing medications needed to fulfill physician orders for all medication types, including compounded injectable formulations. Prepares, compounds, repackages and labels both sterile and non-sterile products as well as chemotherapy and other hazardous medications using strict adherence to proper aseptic technique and established standards.
Maintains inventory within the pharmacy department and stocks medications within automated dispensing cabinets (Pyxis), floor stock, and emergency carts. Maintains a clean working environment and accurate patient and departmental records to ensure regulatory compliance and quality standards. CPhTs function under the direct supervision of a pharmacist.
- Assist pharmacists in preparing and distributing medications for hospital departments, including compounded injectable formulations.
- Prepare, compound, repack, and label sterile and non-sterile products as well as chemotherapy and other hazardous medications using aseptic technique.
- Maintain inventory within the pharmacy department and stock medications in Pyxis, floor stock, and emergency carts.
- Maintain a clean working environment and accurate patient/department records to ensure regulatory compliance and quality standards.
- Operate under the direct supervision of a pharmacist.
Required:
- Free of felony convictions
- Current Registration as a Certified Pharmacy Technician in good standing in the State of Ohio
- Current pharmacy technician certification (CPhT) from an approved certifying body (e.g., PTCB, ExCPT)
- High school diploma, GED, or foreign diploma equivalent to a U.S. high school diploma
Preferred:
- One year of related pharmacy experience and/or training or graduate of a certified training program/healthcare Career College
