The Quality Engineer role is multi‑faceted and includes performing APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, creating control plans and process maps, performing Macrotech testing, operating a CMM, using problem‑solving tools, calibrating measuring and test equipment, maintaining a high degree of integrity, and having excellent communication and record‑keeping skills.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Have knowledge of quality systems, PPAP, FMEA, APQP, SPC and Control plans
- Have experience working with Lean initiatives, 8D root‑cause analysis, corrective action planning, and performing Poka‑Yoke
- Have knowledge and ability to perform Macrotech testing on robotic welds
- Perform internal and external auditing
- Have excellent communication skills and the ability to clearly and concisely communicate audit findings to management
- Have the ability to read and interpret part drawings and understand company policies and procedures related to the company’s quality management system
- Perform calibrations and maintain the calibration database for all employee, company and customer owned gaging
- Read and interpret technical specifications and review and approve material test reports for incoming raw materials and special processes
- Use good consistent judgment and decision‑making on quality‑related issues using written, verbal and prior history information
- Maintain a high degree of integrity
- Be organized, file and maintain documentation as required and have good attention to detail
- Always comply with all company safety policies and use personal protective equipment as required
- Understand and follow employee handbook guidelines and meet attendance expectations
- Have the capability to use computers, including MS Word and Excel, and understand file management, data and record‑keeping
- Have excellent time‑management skills while handling multiple tasks
- Take direction and perform other duties as needed
- Travel to Customers, Suppliers, and Outside Training as needed
- Desire for additional education and training
- Hands‑on approach to understand each step of the manufacturing processes
Bachelor of Science in an engineering or technology field and/or minimum of one to three years of experience in the field of manufacturing.
OTHER QUALIFICATIONSExperience with Stamping, Welding, Machining, Fabrication and Assembly preferred.
Knowledge of ISO 9001 and/or IATF 16949 standards.
Statistical analysis training preferred, Six Sigma Green Belt preferred but not required.
