EHS Engineer Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated EHS Engineer to uphold safety, environmental, quality, and sustainability standards within our facility. The role involves providing environmental engineering and technical support to ensure compliance and control, while actively participating in planning and engineering efforts. This position is vital for maintaining high standards of safety and environmental integrity.
Responsibilities- Enforce policies and regulations related to safety, environmental, quality, and sustainability standards.
- Provide environmental engineering and technical support for plant compliance and control.
- Stay informed about new and pending environmental compliance developments.
- Lead the facility’s environmental efforts and resolve emerging environmental issues.
- Communicate with environmental agency personnel regarding construction and operating permit issues.
- Support negotiations on potential compliance issues and enforcement actions.
- Develop and implement training programs for regulatory compliance with government agencies, ISO
14001, and company requirements. - Focus on incident prevention and safety through best practices.
- Develop, monitor, and assess plant environmental metrics.
- Maintain a hazardous waste program and coordinate hazardous waste management training.
- Direct and train employees managing hazardous waste and submit annual training for indirect personnel.
- Coordinate the disposal of hazardous wastes, manage spill cleanups, and maintain legal documentation.
- Review and maintain environmental permits, files, and documents.
- Request quotes, seek purchase approval, and lead plant projects related to environmental equipment and training activities.

Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Engineering or related Engineering field.
- 2 years of environmental responsibilities in an industrial setting.
- Proficient computer literacy with common business software.
- Ability to work varied hours, be on call, and manage limited travel.
The position is set within a heavy industrial manufacturing environment. The role may require varied working hours and being on call. A tight-knit team atmosphere supports professional growth, with bonus potential based on plant performance.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Permanent position based out of Gallatin, TN.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $100000.00 – $105000.00/yr.
Full company benefits package – PTO – Bonus Potential
Workplace TypeThis is a fully onsite position in Gallatin,TN.
