Medical Lab Technician

Per Diem

• Perform moderate to high complex testing and waived testing procedures and report test results.
• Perform instrument maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Perform quality control testing.
• Maintain supplies needed for performance of tests.
• Perform phlebotomy procedures and drug screen collections according to policy and procedure.
• Accurately register client samples, results with comments, order tests, cancel and add tests as required.
• Participate in Handle with Care annually or CPI every 2 years.

• Associate’s degree in Medical Laboratory Science (may be grandfathered in with Certification or Diploma).
• Tennessee MLT license preferred but not required.
• ASCP (MLT) Certification required.

• Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
• Completion of a 50‑week US Military Medical Lab training course and a minimum of two (2) years of experience is accepted in lieu of education.
