Highpoint Health - Sumner with Ascension Saint Thomas is a 167‑bed healthcare facility that provides care in numerous areas and rehabilitation services.
How You'll ContributeUnder the supervision of a Physical Therapist, the Physical Therapist Assistant provides physical therapy services to patients needing to develop, recover, and maintain physical mobility/function.
Reports to:
Director of Physical Therapy.
- Implements treatment plan developed by supervising therapist using appropriate modalities; seeks consultation as necessary.
- Monitors patient's responses to the treatment plan.
- Regularly communicates patient progress and possible goal revisions to the physical therapist.
- Documents services provided and patient response/progress.
- Educates the patient and family/caregiver about patient deficits.
- Assists with patient discharge planning.
- Provides information regarding appropriate selection/use of adaptive equipment and community support programs.
- Associate's degree graduate of a Physical Therapy Assistant program.
- Active and valid Physical Therapist Assistant license in the state of Tennessee.
- BLS certification.
- Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, ability to work with minimal supervision, able to work in a stressful environment, and take appropriate action.
