Travel Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) – 6P–6:30A
Facility: Sumner Regional Medical Center Location: Gallatin, TN Shift: 6:00 PM – 6:30 AM Assignment Type: Travel Contract
Position SummaryThe Travel Medical Laboratory Technician performs a wide range of laboratory tests to support accurate diagnosis and treatment. This role requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently during evening and overnight hours.
Key Responsibilities- Perform routine and complex laboratory testing across multiple departments (chemistry, hematology, urinalysis, coagulation, microbiology support)
- Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory instruments to ensure accurate results
- Collect, prepare, and analyze specimens following established protocols
- Validate and document test results in accordance with regulatory and facility standards
- Communicate critical values to clinical staff promptly
- Maintain quality control and quality assurance procedures
- Support workflow during high‑volume periods and collaborate with other lab personnel
- Active MLT certification (ASCP or equivalent)
- Completion of an accredited MLT program
- Minimum 1–2 years of recent clinical laboratory experience
- Proficiency with automated analyzers and laboratory information systems
- Strong organizational and problem‑solving skills
- Ability to work independently on evening and overnight shifts
- Experience in a hospital‑based laboratory setting
- Familiarity with rural or regional medical center workflows
