Overview

• Report all safety risks/issues and illegal activity, including robbery, theft or fraud
• Notify management of customer or employee accidents
• Inspect equipment for preventive maintenance and notify the appropriate department or store manager of repairs
• Reinforce safety programs by complying with safety procedures and identify unsafe conditions
• Ensure proper temperatures in cases and coolers are maintained and temperature logs are kept
• Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines
• Stay current with present, future, seasonal and special ads
• Display a positive attitude and provide excellent customer service
• Report product ordering/shipping discrepancies to the department manager
• Label, stock and inventory department merchandise; provide customers with fresh products
• Check product quality, review sell-by dates, and take appropriate action
• Recommend grocery items and inform customers of specials
• Gain and maintain knowledge of products and respond to customer questions
• Create an environment where customers feel welcome and valued
• Promote trust and respect among associates
• Must be able to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation

Minimum

• Ability to handle stressful situations
• Effective communication skills
• Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, subtraction)

Desired

• Any retail experience
• Second language (speaking, reading and/or writing)
