OverviewTEKsystems Inc. is looking for a reliable and skilled Telecommunications Technician to support installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of telecom systems. This role begins as a 6-month contract with the potential to become a long-term position. You'll receive full benefits, professional support, and opportunities for growth.
Key Responsibilities- Install, maintain, and repair telecommunications equipment and cabling.
- Perform routine system checks and troubleshoot network or connectivity issues.
- Configure and program telecom devices such as routers, switches, VoIP phones, and PBX systems.
- Work with team members to ensure smooth and reliable network performance.
- Provide hands‑on technical support to end-users and resolve service issues.
- Keep accurate records of equipment, service calls, and installation activities.
- Follow all safety guidelines and industry standards.
- Stay informed about new technologies and best practices in the telecom field.
- High school diploma or equivalent (technical certifications are a plus).
- Previous experience in telecommunications, low‑voltage cabling, or a related field.
- Knowledge of Cat5/Cat6 cabling, routers, switches, and basic networking.
- Familiarity with VoIP systems, PBX setups, and common network protocols. >
- Good communication skills and the ability to work well with others.
- Able to work independently and manage tasks with minimal supervision.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies.
