Position SummaryNote: This position is for the UNM Gallup Branch, located in Gallup, NM, approximately 138 miles west of Albuquerque, NM.
The University of New Mexico Gallup Branch, within the Fine Arts, Humanities & Social Sciences Division, anticipates hiring adjunct faculty to teach face-to-face and/or develop lower division courses (1000/2000 Level) in the Spring, Summer, and Fall 2025 semesters. Potential disciplines include:
- English 1110X-1110Y (Composition I: Stretch I and II)
- English 1110 (Composition I)
- English 1110Z (Enhanced Composition)
- English 1120 (Composition II)
- English 2120 (Intermediate Composition)
- English 2210 (Professional and Technical Communication)
UNM Gallup is a two-year branch campus of the University of New Mexico, serving diverse communities through education, technical programs, and transfer pathways. The division seeks qualified part-time faculty responsible for all aspects of teaching, including content delivery, grading, and student assessment. Positions depend on enrollment and course demand each semester.
WagesCompensation is based on credentials and credit hours:
- Terminal Degree + 12 hours teaching experience: $1,100.94 per credit hour
- Terminal Degree < 12 hours teaching experience: $1,056.70 per credit hour
- Master's Degree + 12 hours teaching experience: $1,017.60 per credit hour
- Master's Degree < 12 hours teaching experience: $1,017.60 per credit hour

- January 31, 2025 for Summer 2025
- May 31, 2025 for Fall 2025
- Minimum: Master's degree in English or related field
- Preferred: Doctorate in English or related field, college teaching experience, commitment to diversity and student success
