Position Summary
PLEASE NOTE:
This position is for the UNM Gallup Branch, located in Gallup, NM, approximately 138 miles west of Albuquerque, NM.
The University of New Mexico‑Gallup invites applications for a Lecturer I or II within the Construction Technology program. We are one of four branch community colleges of the University of New Mexico and serve approximately 2,200 students. Located in Gallup, NM, approximately 138 miles west of Albuquerque, UNM‑Gallup is situated in the Four Corners region and near the Navajo Nation, Zuni Pueblo and Hopi Reservation.
UNM‑Gallup serves a hugely diverse student population with 100+ full‑time and part‑time faculty members. We are fully accredited by the Higher Learning Commission offering Associate degrees, selected Bachelor’s degrees, Career Technical Education certificate programs, and adult basic education (ABE/GED). Workforce training and personal enrichment courses are also offered.
It is an exciting time to join our faculty as we are expanding our programs, engaging with the community, establishing multiple endowments and grant opportunities while hiring a substantial cohort of new faculty. The successful candidate will be expected to teach a 27‑credit hour course load annually in the area of Construction Technology, maintain an active scholarship/service record (as defined by the UNM‑CBA), participate in monthly Division meetings, and execute other relevant duties as agreed upon with the division chair in an annual faculty‑chair agreement. In addition, the selected candidate will be expected to demonstrate a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion through actively practicing inclusive behavior and proactively managing bias.

Minimum Qualifications- Certifications/Industry‑recognized credentials in construction‑related technologies (e.g., NCCER or OSHA)
- A minimum of five years’ work experience in the construction trade
- Demonstrated teaching experience in construction technology or a closely related field
- Associate Degree in Construction Technology or a closely‑related field
- A demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion

Applicants who are appointed to a UNM faculty position are required to provide an official certification of successful completion of all degree requirements prior to their initial employment with UNM.
