Clinical Informatics Specialist
The Clinical Informatics Specialist is integral in optimizing the use of health information technology to improve patient care and operational efficiency. This role reports to the Director of Information Technology. The role involves designing, implementing, and managing electronic health record (EHR) systems and other health IT solutions. Work closely with healthcare providers, IT teams, and other stakeholders to enhance data management, interoperability, and system functionality.
Key responsibilities include leading data analytics initiatives, developing custom interfaces and reports, and ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations and best practices.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Technology or equivalent degree is required. Master’s Degree preferred.
- 3+ years’ experience in health informatics, EHR management, or a related role. Experience with Cerner or other major EHR systems required.
- Healthcare setting experience strongly preferred.
- Current RN license to practice professional Nursing in the State of New Mexico.
- Certification in Clinical Informatics (e.g., CPHIMS, CAHIMS) preferred.
- Basic Life Support is required. If BLS verification is not current upon hire, must be obtained within three (3) months of hire.
