Minimum Salary: $4,500.00

ATHLETIC COACHING LICENSE, 5-12
Must hold or have the ability to obtain an Athletic Coaching License from the New Mexico Public Education Department (link) as well as completing the Fundamentals of Coaching online exam offered through the New Mexico Activities Association ((Use the "Apply for this Job" box below).).
QUALIFICATIONS:The athletic director, who provides overall objectives and final evaluation in conjunction with the high school principals.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:On-site attendance is mandatory for this position.
SUPERVISES:In several instances, the head coach must advise, coordinate and support a staff of high school assistant coaches and middle school coaches in conjunction with the athletic director and respective principal.
JOB GOAL:To instruct athletes in the fundamental skills, strategy and physical training necessary for them to realize a degree of individual and team success. The coach must also promote socially acceptable character development, self-discipline, self-confidence, and pride of accomplishment. Continuous professional development through coaching clinics, observations, and consultation is encouraged.
Work with students interested in sports, provide practice support, and advise teams to be successful. Teach and enforce rules and regulations. Work involves evenings and weekends.
