Athletic Coach – Spring Golf

Contract Length:
Spring Sport

Minimum Salary: $6,000.00

Maximum Salary: $6,000.00

• Must hold or be able to obtain an Athletic Coaching License from the New Mexico Public Education Department and complete the Fundamentals of Coaching online exam offered through the New Mexico Activities Association ((Use the "Apply for this Job" box below).).
• High School Diploma or Equivalency.
• Has the ability to organize and supervise a total sports program.
• Has previous successful coaching experience in the assigned sport (major sports).
• Head coach must have substantial knowledge of the technical aspects of the sport and continue to examine new theories and procedures pertinent to the field.
• Head coach must serve as an appropriate role model for student athletes through instructions and actions.

Reports to the athletic director, who provides overall objectives and final evaluation in conjunction with the high school principals.

Work Environment:
On-site attendance is mandatory.

Supervises:
The head coach may advise, coordinate and support a staff of high school assistant coaches and middle school coaches together with the athletic director and respective principals.

Job Goal:
To instruct athletes in the fundamental skills, strategy and physical training necessary for individual and team success. The coach must also model socially acceptable character development, self-discipline, self-confidence and pride of accomplishment while upgrading knowledge and skills through coaching clinics, observations, consultation, etc.

Additional Duties:
Work with students interested in sports, provide practice support and advice for team success against opposing teams during a sports season. Teach and enforce rules and regulations. Includes evening and weekend work.
