This position is responsible for preparing work sites, transporting paints, tools, and materials to the job area, and setting up ladders and scaffolding. The successful candidate will work under the supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor while performing paint jobs, varnishing, enameling, staining, and lacquering on both interior and exterior surfaces. Tasks include removing previously applied paint, using epoxy compounds and putty to fill cracks or holes, and ensuring surfaces are ready for finishing.

Schedule:

Monday – Friday 5:45 AM – 2:15 PM

• Clean and prepare surfaces to ensure proper adhesion of materials.
• Scrape, sand, prime, or seal surfaces prior to painting.
• Mix and match paint, varnish, shellac, enamel, and other finishes using the correct proportions and colors.
• Apply paint to surfaces including canvas, walls, floors, doors, cabinets, and machinery.
• Make on-site preparations such as building scaffolding and covering fixtures.
• Safely work from elevated platforms such as scissor lifts and articulated boom lifts.
• Maintain cleanliness of work areas and tools to keep them free from paint, stains, and debris.
• Inspect and refurbish wall surfaces using appropriate materials.
• Order paint supplies and materials.
• Operate and maintain HPLV and floor striping spray machines.
• Create and close work orders to document work performed.
• Operate and maintain various power and manual tools.

• Assist with basic plant/equipment maintenance functions as requested by the Maintenance Supervisor.

• Adherence to company policies, rules, and regulations as outlined in the employee handbook.
• Wear all required personal protective equipment and attend all safety meetings.
• Physical demands: lift 50 lb, bend, squat, kneel, twist, stand for long periods, stretch, pull, push, work from elevated platforms, and wear a respirator.
• Self‑motivated and able to work productively with limited supervision.
• Excellent attendance and safety record.
• Ability to understand and execute written and oral instructions.
