Painter

• Pay or shift range: $20 USD to $30 USD
  The salary range is applicable across the U.S. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, skill set, education, location and other job-related qualifications.

Position Overview:

This position is responsible for work site preparation, transporting paints, tools and materials to job area, and setting up of ladders and scaffolding. Work under the supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor while doing paint jobs, varnishing, enameling, staining or lacquering both interior and exterior surfaces of articles. Removing previously applied paint, and use epoxy compounds, putty or other suitable filling materials to fill breaks or cracks, nail holes and joints found in surfaces of articles to be painted.

Schedule is Monday – Friday 5:45am – 2:15pm

Essential Job Functions:

• Clean and prepare surfaces to ensure proper adherence of materials
• Scrape, sandpaper, prime, or seal surfaces prior to painting
• Mix and match paint, varnish, shellac, enamel, and other finishes using the right proportions and colors
• Apply paint to surfaces including canvas, walls, floors, doors, cabinets, and machinery
• Make on-site preparations such as building scaffolding, covering fixtures, etc.
• Safely work from elevated platforms such as Scissor Lifts and Articulated Boom Lifts.
• Maintaining the cleanliness of the work areas and the tools and equipment used in painting, making sure they are free from paint, stains, and debris
• Examine and maintain painted exterior and interior painted surfaces, trim, fixtures, and machinery
• Inspect and refurbish wall surfaces by means of the appropriate materials
• Order paint supplies and materials
• Operate and maintain HPLV and floor striping spray machines
• Create and close work orders as required to document work performed
• Operate and maintain various power and manual tools

Non-essential

Job Functions:

• Assist with basic plant/equipment maintenance functions as capable, trained, and qualified as requested by Maintenance Supervisor

Requirements:

• The ability to adhere to the company’s policies, rules and regulations as set forth in the employee handbook
• Maintain and wear all required personal protective equipment and attend all safety meetings
• The physical demands of the job: lift 50 pounds, bend, squat, kneel, twist, stand for long periods of time, stretching, pulling and pushing, work from elevated platforms, wear a respirator
• Self-Motivated, able to work productively with limited supervision
• Excellent attendance and safety record
• Able to understand and execute written and oral instructions
