JOB DESCRIPTIONThe Department of Pediatrics at the University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB) John Sealy School of Medicine in Galveston is seeking a full-time Pediatric Pulmonology Clinician Educator at the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor. This is a unique opportunity to join a nationally recognized academic health system and a collaborative team of clinicians dedicated to advancing care for children.
This position offers the opportunity to work in a multidisciplinary environment, contribute to the education of pediatric residents and medical students, and engage in meaningful clinical care across UTMB’s Galveston Island and Clear Lake campuses.
Primary clinical responsibilities include providing comprehensive diagnosis and management for a broad range of respiratory diseases and offering outstanding clinical care for patients with respiratory disorders.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS- Provide comprehensive pediatric pulmonary care across inpatient and outpatient settings.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to support the division’s clinical and educational missions.
- Teach and mentor medical students, residents, and fellows.
- M.D. or D.O. degree from an accredited medical school.
- Completion of an ACGME-accredited Pediatric Residency Program and Pediatric Pulmonology Fellowship.
- Board Certification or Eligibility in Pediatric Pulmonology.
- Ability to obtain an unrestricted Texas medical license.
- U.S. Citizenship or Employment Authorization to work in the U.S.
- Demonstrated commitment to patient care and medical education.
- Five years of clinical experience.
- Prior academic experience in resident and medical student education.
