Assistant Professor of Clinical Practice, Surgery-Pediatric

The purpose of this position is to provide faculty support to meet the teaching, research, and patient care needs of the Department of Surgery, Division of Pediatric Surgery, and assist in fulfilling UTMB’s threefold mission.

• Provide direct patient care including consultative services, outpatient and inpatient services, and perioperative care.
• Participate in all teaching activities of the division including conferences and lectures, bedside rounds, and house staff supervision. Students will include medical students, house staff, nursing students, and allied health students.
• Advance clinical knowledge through academic and scholarly efforts.
• Administrative responsibilities including advising and evaluating residents and students, providing medical direction for Hospital services, and participating in committee memberships at the departmental and Health System level.

• Graduate of an approved medical school.
• Completed an approved residency training and fellowship program.
• Board Certified or Board Eligible (BC/BE) in Pediatric Surgery.
• Texas Medical license without restrictions.

Salary: Commensurate with experience.
