Biomedical Equipment Technician (Notional Opportunity)

Join us at Acuity International as a Biomedical Equipment Technician (Notional Opportunity).

This position is contingent upon contract award and will be located onsite in either the southeast, southwest, or central United States. Travel may be required.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Inspect, maintain, adjust, calibrate, and repair electronic, electromechanical, and hydraulic medical equipment, including patient monitors, defibrillators, imaging equipment (X-rays, CT scanners, ultrasound), voice-controlled operating tables, electric wheelchairs, and other specialized medical devices.
  • Perform routine maintenance and safety checks, and train practitioners in safe equipment operation.
  • Disassemble equipment to diagnose malfunctions, replace defective parts, and reassemble and calibrate.
  • Report unrepairable malfunctions to manufacturers or distributors for repairs.
  • Maintain detailed records of maintenance, repairs, and equipment status.
  • Manage inventories and supplies.
  • Work near patients without causing disturbances.
  • Document issues, work performed, and system changes.
  • Participate in meetings and task forces to improve quality and stay updated on new developments and policies.
  • Adhere to the American Hospital Association's Bill of Rights for patients.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum 2 years' experience as a Biomedical Equipment Technician.
  • Diploma, certificate, or associate degree in Biomedical Equipment Technology or Engineering; military training (e.g., 4A2X1, 68A, HM-8478) also accepted.
  • Experience with CT scanners and similar sophisticated equipment.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team, maintaining professionalism.
  • Proficiency with computers and MS Office.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing work requirements and shifts.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • U.S. citizenship or permanent residency in the U.S. for at least 3 of the past 5 years.
  • Preferred:
    Current DHS clearance, bilingual in Spanish and English.

Conditions:
  • Work primarily in indoor/office environments.
  • Sitting and standing for extended periods.
