High School or equivalent and related experience required. EKG certified preferred.

Electrocardiograph Technician provides technical skills in obtaining electrocardiograph tracing, routine exercise stress testing, exercise stress testing with nuclear medicine, Holter/Event Monitor application and scanning of hospital and clinical patients.

• Prepares appropriate equipment and instructs patients on procedures.
• Traces 12 lead EKG and transmits to the system.
• Enters patient information, as well as edits of electrocardiogram into the system.
• Interprets EKG rhythms and reports significant changes immediately to the appropriate medical personnel.
• Hooks up Holter monitor for patients and obtains scan reports.
• Cleans all equipment after each use and ensures accessory items are properly stored.
• Participates in a team setting to do nuclear medicine pharmacology tests and treadmill exercise tests.
• Prepares paperwork and traces EKG’s during nuclear procedures.
• Transmits final paperwork to the appropriate department.
• Hooks up event monitors and prepares paperwork.
• Performs routine maintenance work on equipment for proper operation.
• Adheres to internal controls established for the department.
• Performs related duties as required.
