REQUIRED
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:
High School or equivalent and related experience required. EKG certified preferred.
JOB SUMMARY: Electrocardiograph Technician provides technical skills in obtaining electrocardiograph tracing, routine exercise stress testing, exercise stress testing with nuclear medicine, Holter/Event Monitor application and scanning of hospital and clinical patients.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Prepares appropriate equipment and instruct patients on procedures.
- Traces 12 lead EKG and transmitting to the system.
- Enters patient information, as well as edits of electrocardiogram into the system.
- Interprets EKG rhythms and reports significant changes immediately to the appropriate medical personnel.
- Hooks up Holter monitor for patients, and obtains scan reports.
- Cleans of all equipment after each use and makes sure accessory items are properly stored.
- Participates in team setting to do nuclear medicine pharmacology tests and treadmill exercise tests.
- Prepares paperwork and traces EKG’s during nuclear procedures.
- Transmits final paperwork to the appropriate department.
- Hooks up event monitors and prepares paperwork.
- Performs routine maintenance work on equipment for proper operation.
- Adheres to internal controls established for department.
- Performs related duties required.
