UTMB Health Uro Gynecology OBGYN Opportunity:
The UTMB Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology is seeking a full-time Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) to join our Division of Urogynecology and Reconstructive Pelvic Surgery (URPS). This is a unique opportunity to contribute to a growing subspecialty service dedicated to improving the pelvic health of women across the region.
As a valued member of the urogynecology team, the APP will work closely with physicians, nursing staff, and allied health professionals to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in an outpatient setting with additional duties as permitted by the licensing board(s). The position offers exposure to a wide variety of urogynecologic conditions, active participation in procedures and diagnostic studies, and the opportunity to make a lasting difference in the lives of patients.

Position OverviewThis full-time Advanced Practice Provider position in Urogynecology offers a rewarding mix of direct patient care, clinical support, and health education within UTMB’s Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. The successful candidate will:
Provide routine urogynecologic health care in a collaborative clinic environment.
Obtain medical histories, conduct physical examinations, and order appropriate diagnostic studies.
Interpret laboratory, radiographic, and other clinical data to support accurate diagnoses and treatment planning.
Initiate therapeutic regimens under licensure, monitor patient progress, and adjust care as needed.
Deliver counseling, patient education, and health instruction on urogynecologic conditions.
Assist with office procedures and diagnostic urogynecologic studies.
Document all patient encounters and ensure accurate, timely medical records.
Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient care and promote program growth.

QualificationsRequired – Nurse Practitioner Pathway:
Completion of a graduate-level nurse practitioner program accredited by ACEN or CCNE.
Certification by the ANCC or AANP.
Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) and Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) in Texas.
Required – Physician Assistant Pathway:
Completion of an ARC-PA accredited physician assistant program.
Certification by the NCCPA.
Licensed Physician Assistant by the Texas Physician Assistant Board/Texas Medical Board.
Additional Requirements:
Current (or eligibility for) Texas licensure.
Current (or eligibility for) DEA registration.
New graduates who are completing training or awaiting certification/licensure may apply, with employment contingent upon meeting all requirements.
- Prior experience in Urogynecology, Obstetrics and Gynecology, or related Women’s Healthcare.
