Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist, Anesthesiology

This position provides CRNA support to meet the patient care needs of the Department of Anesthesiology, consistent with Texas Licensure and under MD supervised practice.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Master degree or higher from a nurse anesthesia educational program accredited by the Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs (COA)
• Valid Texas RN License
• Valid Texas CRNA License

Job Summary: The purpose of this position is to provide supervised patient care, including anesthesiology pre-op, intra-op, and post-op services.

Job Duties:

• Conducting pre-anesthesia evaluations, including assessing patient’s medical history and its effect on anesthesia response.
• Obtaining informed consents for anesthesia.
• Administering anesthetic related drugs and controlled substances.
• Selecting/inserting both invasive and noninvasive monitoring modalities.
• Performing point-of-care testing.
• Planning and initiating anesthetic techniques, including general, regional, local, and sedation.
• Responding to emergency situations using airway management and other techniques.
• Facilitating emergence and recovery from anesthesia.
• Keeping detailed anesthetic records in our EMR system and other documentation as indicated.
• Additional duties as needed.

Salary Range: Commensurate with experience.
