Job Description
Join us as a Wound Ostomy & Continence Nurse at The University of Texas Medical Branch.
The successful candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in nursing and current licensure or valid permit to practice professional nursing in Texas. Graduation from an accredited Wound, Ostomy, and Continence Nursing Education Program is required. The candidate should have five years of clinical RN experience, including two years of wound, ostomy, and continence nursing experience, and certification as a Wound, Ostomy, and Continence Nurse (WOCN) in at least two areas.
The Wound Ostomy & Continence Nurse will provide, coordinate, and support clinical aspects of care for patients with wound, ostomy, and continence care needs. The nurse will critically analyze the effectiveness of patient care systems and participate in interdisciplinary action to maximize the quality, cost, and effectiveness of patient care. The nurse will serve as an expert WOC clinical resource on a 24/7 basis.
