Assistant Nurse Manager - CT/Vascular and Cardiology
Assistant Nurse Manager assists the Nurse Manager in the achievement of the patient care unit(s) goals and objectives, working in a supportive manner as a resource and representative for the Nurse Manager.
Education & Experience- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing
- Three years clinical experience
- Current RN license or valid permit to practice professional nursing in Texas
- Certification in nursing specialty or administration
- Assists in the performance of operational aspects of a designated patient care unit(s) while providing mentoring and leadership support to the unit(s) staff.
- Performs integral quality functions to support the hospital’s patient‑centered and high‑value core efforts.
- Participates in and supports continuous quality improvement and risk management programs at the patient care unit(s) level.
- Facilitates effective delivery of competent, compassionate care by monitoring and evaluating patient care processes and outcomes.
- Demonstrates commitment to courteous, sincere, and sensitive customer service; presents a positive and caring attitude in all interactions.
- Facilitates planning, implementation, development, and evaluation of special projects, programs, and research as assigned.
- Communicates with staff at all levels of the institution in a professional manner.
- Interprets application and implementation of the philosophy, objectives, policies, and procedures of the patient care unit(s).
- Identifies internal controls, monitors compliance, and participates in the hiring process for staffing.
- Mentors staff, evaluates performance, provides feedback, and may act as Nurse Manager in the absence of Nurse Manager.
- Utilizes assessment and evaluation strategies to improve professional development activities.
- May share 24/7 accountability for assigned units with Nurse Manager(s).
- Adheres to internal controls and reporting structure.
- Performs related duties as required.
