We are recruiting Nurse Practitioners forcorrectional healthcare facilities in Galveston, Texas.
In this roleyou will provide comprehensive primary care to incarcerated individuals in astructured clinical setting: managing acute and chronic conditions, working closely with healthcare and facility staff, and contributing to quality patient care in a correctional environment. Any certified NP or PA with primary care experience is welcome to apply.
Duties and Responsibilities- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, physical examinations, and diagnostic evaluations.
- Diagnose and manage acute and chronic medical conditions.
- Provide sick-call coverage and same-day medicalevaluations.
- Develop and monitor treatment plans.
- Educate patients regarding medications, disease management, and preventive healthcare.
- Maintain accurate documentation within the Next Gen EMRsystem.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and facility staff to ensure quality patient care.
- Master’s degree or higher.
- 1+ year of primary care experience.
- 1+ year of care management experience.
- 1+ year of experience in correctional care orcorrectional medicine.
- Current licensure as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP),Adult Gerontology Nurse Practitioner (AGNP), or Nurse Practitioner (NP).
- Valid Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) registration.
- Current Basic Life Support (ARC BLS or AHA BLS) or Advanced Cardiac Life Support (AHA ACLS) certification.
