Ship Plumber

* Formal plumbing education from a trade school or technical college is essential, practical experience is paramount.
* Minimum of 1 years of experience in plumbing.
* STCW Certificate endorsed as:
Rating Forming Part of an Engineering Watch (RFPEW). Able Seafarer Engine Qualified Member of the engine department (QMED)
* 2-4 years of experience in plumbing
* Knowledge in Marine Plumbing Systems, Regulatory Compliance, Materials and Tools, Blueprint Reading, Environmental Regulations
* Skills in Troubleshooting and Repair, Pipe fitting and Welding, System Maintenance, Safety Procedures, Technical Communication
* Skill in computer, oral and written communication including demonstrated ability to use common Microsoft products and NSE
* Related teaching/ instructional experience instructing cadets or supervising personnel
* This position is security sensitive.
* This position requires compliance with state and federal laws/codes and Texas A&M University System/TAMU policies, regulations, rules and procedures.
* All tasks and job responsibilities must be performed safely without injury to self or others in compliance with System and University safety requirements.
* Must pass a USCG/DOT drug test prior to employment and participate in the University's random drug test program.
* Willing to work extended duty days to include overnight stays, weekends and holidays. Able to report on short notice.
* This position is defined as Critical Infrastructure and requires completion of a background check prior to employment.
* Ability to spend at least 3 months at sea and all ship activations.
