Job DescriptionFull‑time term position. Duties commence September 8, 2026.
As a French second‑language teacher, you will play a critical role in ensuring student achievement as specified in the curriculum guides of French programs. You will commit to furthering the goals for student success in an inclusive, safe and caring bilingual environment. You subscribe to a “students first” philosophy and believe that collaboration is key for your growth as an educator.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities- Apply knowledge and understanding of outcomes, specific content expertise, and second‑language teaching methodology.
- Apply knowledge, experience, and commitment to ensure culturally relevant instruction and assessment for all students.
- Balance language instruction with content delivery.
- Provide an accurate and fluent linguistic model to create a language‑rich learning environment.
- Ensure and facilitate authentic interactive strategies for progressive French second‑language development.
- Use appropriate second‑language literacy development through differentiated strategies and resources.
- Bachelor of Education – Secondary with a Major in French (10 courses).
- NL Teaching Certificate – Level IV or higher.
- Minimum of B2 DELF Assessment (70% overall average with no less than 60% in all four components).
- French First Language applicants may be considered equivalent.
- Equivalencies will be considered.
Annual Teacher Salary Scale contained within the NLTA Provincial Collective Agreement, and benefits are included in the agreement.
Additional NotesApplicants without the required qualifications may be considered pursuant to Clause 37.01 (d) of the provincial collective agreement.
