Roles and Responsibilities
Production Scheduling:
- Create and maintain detailed production schedules based on demand forecasts, inventory levels, and production capacity.
- Allocate production tasks to different workstations and machines.
- Adjust schedules to accommodate unexpected disruptions or changes in production requirements.
Capacity Planning:
- Analyze production capacity and identify potential bottlenecks.
- Optimize resource utilization to maximize production output.
- Suggest equipment upgrades or process improvements to enhance capacity.
Material Planning:
- Forecast raw material requirements to ensure timely delivery and prevent stock outs.
- Coordinate with suppliers to manage inventory levels.
- Monitor material usage and identify areas for cost reduction.
Performance Monitoring:
- Track production progress against planned schedules and identify deviations.
- Analyze production data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to production efficiency and quality.
Collaboration:
- Work closely with production teams, quality control, and maintenance departments to address issues and ensure smooth operations.
- Communicate production plans and updates to relevant stakeholders.
Required skills and qualifications:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in production planning software (e.g., ERP systems)
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Understanding of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies
- Knowledge of statistical analysis techniques
