Studio Programming & Operations Manager
Maestre Arts — Boise, (Part-Time | On-Site for Programs)
Maestre Arts is a multidisciplinary creative studio working at the intersection of music, design, and technology. Our programming is designed to expose the local and visiting creative community to high-quality creative and technical work—through live sessions, talks, workshops, and curated experiences—while maintaining high standards of execution and sustainability.
We’re looking for a Studio Programming & Operations Manager to take ownership of programming, coordination, and studio operations. This role exists so the studio can operate consistently and professionally, with clear ownership over execution and decision-making.
This role is not about vibes, hype, or social energy—it’s about judgment, execution, and follow-through.
Core Responsibilities- Plan and execute 2–3 curated programs per month
- Own logistics end-to-end: scheduling, setup, teardown, hospitality, and timelines
- Serve as the primary on-site point person during programs
- Coordinate artists, speakers, collaborators, vendors, and attendees
- Maintain the studio calendar, systems, and operational order
- Handle inbound inquiries and initiate selective outbound outreach
- Identify problems early and resolve them independently
- Ensure programs reflect the studio’s standards, intent, and mission
- Curate and coordinate local and national artists, speakers, and collaborators
- Apply the same standards of taste, preparation, and professionalism regardless of origin
- Balance familiarity with discernment—local does not mean default, and national does not imply prestige
- Initiate outreach selectively and intentionally; this is programming, not volume booking
- Manage communication, scheduling, and light logistics with autonomy and restraint
- Flag strong opportunities while protecting the studio from misalignment or over commitment
- Live performance sessions (intimate, audience present, often recorded)
- Curated showcases (2–4 artists, structured programming)
- Private listening sessions or invite-only industry nights
- Workshops or talks centered on music, technology, or creative process
- Content‑first sessions designed for filming and distribution
- Occasional private rentals or brand‑led activations
These programs are intentionally small, controlled, and quality‑driven—not open mics, parties, or generic networking mixers.
- Plan programs with clear awareness of budget constraints and expected income
- Make programming decisions that balance creative quality with financial sustainability
- Track basic program economics (costs, revenue, profit targets)
- Adjust scale, format, or frequency based on results
- Treat programs as experiments with feedback, not guaranteed entitlements
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Good judgment, discretion, and the ability to say no
- Comfortable managing creatives while enforcing timelines and expectations
- Calm under pressure; capable of making real‑time decisions
- Financially aware—able to think in trade‑offs, not just ideas
- Reliable, proactive, and detail‑oriented
- Experience in studio operations, programming, or creative production is a plus, but execution matters more than titles
This role requires taste, restraint, and follow‑through
.
- Base monthly pay + per-program bonus
- Bonuses tied to successful execution and performance
- Programs typically generate ~$1,200 in profit
- Flexible structure focused on outcomes, not hours
- Part-time, ongoing role
- Evening availability required for programs
- On-site presence required during programs; light remote coordination otherwise
Maestre Arts already has the space, equipment, audience, and creative direction. What’s missing is consistent operational leadership to translate intent into repeatable, high-quality programming.
The studio prioritizes substance over optics and craft over hype
