About the Role: The Overnight Route Driver is responsible for the prompt, secure, and efficient transportation of goods and packages between Boise and Moscow while operating a 26‑foot box truck. This position requires overnight stays and safe driving in winter weather conditions.
Responsibilities- Safely transport goods and packages to and from designated locations within specified time frames, including documents, parts, tires, and equipment.
- Perform routine vehicle maintenance, cleaning, and immediately report any mechanical issues.
- Efficiently load and unload goods, ensuring secure placement to prevent damage.
- Interact professionally with customers during delivery, verify deliveries with signatures, and handle payments or paperwork as needed.
- Plan and follow the most efficient delivery routes, taking traffic, distance, and delivery times into account.
- Maintain accurate delivery records, including times, routes, and any encountered issues, in compliance with company policies and regulations.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and company safety protocols.
- Address and resolve customer issues or concerns that arise during delivery.
- Valid Driver's License with an acceptable driving record.
- Pass a DOT physical examination; physical fitness sufficient for loading and unloading (up to 100 lbs unassisted) and extended driving periods.
- Excellent navigation skills using GPS devices or maps.
- Strong customer service and communication skills to represent the company positively.
- Effective time‑management skills to ensure timely deliveries and efficient route planning.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays, including overnight shifts.
- Ability to cross state lines if necessary.
