This position is primarily responsible for facilitating the training of hourly and management support employees. Duties include assisting with new‑hire orientation, equipment‑specific training, and safety and product quality elements. The operations trainer evaluates plant training, enhances the onboarding process, and recommends actions to management.
Responsibilities- Effectively train new employees in production and classroom environments during the first 90 days to help them adapt and achieve maximum quality and productivity.
- Ensure all employees receive appropriate training to perform their jobs with above‑average proficiency and re‑train those exhibiting contrary behavior.
- Develop innovative hands‑on training methods to meet training goals and initiatives.
- Assist with data entry, tracking, and timely submission of all training records.
- Communicate training program status to all department managers.
- Identify and document trends and develop action plans to improve employee performance, tools, and tasks.
- Collaborate with production management to optimize operations, safety, quality, and cost.
- Validate training outcomes, materials, and methods with production management.
- Perform all essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Mechanical aptitude or background working with precision machine parts (preferred).
- General computer knowledge and proficiency.
- Experience with Microsoft Office including Word and Excel.
- Bi‑lingual candidate preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to evaluate employee performance and techniques.
- Ability to work under minimum supervision.
- Strong communication skills in reading and speaking English.
- Effective communication with all employee levels, both verbal and written.
- Maintain confidentiality with professionalism and discretion.
- Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
- Lift, push, and pull up to 60 lbs.
- Require walking, standing, twisting, reaching, bending, climbing, and lifting.
- Work flexible hours, including weekends.
Minimum of 2 years in a manufacturing environment and/or training background.
EducationHigh School diploma or equivalent, or verifiable ability to perform essential job functions.
