About the RoleWe are seeking a reliable and professional Flex Security Officer to join our healthcare security team. This position plays a vital role in ensuring the safety and security of patients, visitors, and staff within a medical facility environment.
The Flex designation means you will be scheduled as needed to fill open shifts, including days, evenings, overnights, weekends, and holidays. This role is ideal for individuals seeking flexible hours, supplemental income, or opportunities to gain experience in healthcare security.
Key Responsibilities- Patrol and Monitoring:
Conduct regular interior and exterior patrols to maintain a visible security presence and identify potential safety or security concerns. - Access Control:
Monitor and secure entrances, exits, and restricted areas to prevent unauthorized access and ensure compliance with facility procedures. - Incident Response:
Respond promptly and professionally to alarms, disturbances, and emergency situations such as medical codes, fire alarms, or safety hazards. - Customer Service:
Provide courteous and professional assistance to visitors, patients, and staff while maintaining a calm and confident demeanor. - Report Writing:
Prepare detailed and accurate incident reports, daily activity logs, and other required documentation. - Safety Enforcement:
Support and enforce facility safety policies, emergency protocols, and health guidelines. - Team
Collaboration:
Work effectively with other security officers, hospital staff, and local law enforcement when necessary.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Previous security, military, or law enforcement experience preferred, especially in healthcare or high-traffic settings.
- Strong communication, observation, and conflict resolution skills.
- Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions under pressure.
- Must be able to stand or walk for extended periods and perform frequent patrols.
- Must have open availability, including weekends, holidays, and overnight shifts as needed.
- Professional appearance, reliability, and excellent attendance required.
- Must have dependable transportation to and from the work site.
HS Diploma
GED or H.S. Equivalent
