Accounts Payable Clerk

Description

We are looking for an experienced Accounts Payable Clerk to join our team on a contract basis in Garden City, New York. In this role, you will ensure accurate and timely processing of invoices, payments, and related transactions. This position requires strong attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

- Accurately process and code invoices in compliance with company standards.

- Handle check runs and ensure timely payment to vendors.

- Review and verify invoices for correctness and proper documentation.

- Maintain detailed records of accounts payable transactions.

- Collaborate with other departments to address invoice discrepancies.

- Respond promptly to vendor inquiries and resolve payment issues.

- Assist in reconciling accounts payable reports with general ledger.

- Ensure adherence to company policies and procedures regarding payment processing.

- Support month-end closing activities related to accounts payable.

Requirements - Previous experience in accounts payable or a similar role.

- Proficiency in coding invoices and processing payments.

- Familiarity with check runs and handling vendor payments.

- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

- Ability to communicate effectively with vendors and team members.

- Strong problem-solving skills to address invoice discrepancies.

- Knowledge of accounting principles and practices.

- Experience with accounting software or ERP systems is preferred.
