CAD Drafter Designer

Job Description

Video Voice Data Communications (VVD) is an engineer design/construction company that provides electrical and telecommunications solutions. We are seeking a Drafter Designer to develop technical drawings of field maps using Bluebeam software and contribute to the production of planner redlines, base maps, exhibits, profiles, elevations, markup, and takeoffs. The Drafter will prepare documentation that includes product materials and dimensions and review it with team leaders and project managers prior to client submittal.

The Drafter will produce construction drawings for telecommunication projects, including fiber optic cables, poles, conduit, transmission equipment and associated electronics, using AutoCAD and Bluebeam. The role requires timely and accurate completion of moderate to advanced complexity drawing packages, collaboration with other drafters and project managers, and the drafting of telecommunications backbone and distribution systems.

• Creates project work prints based on designs created by the designer
• Creates drawings for the placement of fiber optic cables, poles, conduit, transmission equipment, and associated electronics
• Creates work prints based on current and past network architectures
• Responsible for timely and accurate completion of moderate to advanced complexity construction drawings for telecommunication projects
• Works closely with other drafters and project managers to produce high‑quality construction packages and as‑build drawings
• Focuses on drafting of telecommunications backbone and distribution
• AutoCAD drafting experience and knowledge is welcomed

• Working knowledge of design/drafting techniques and software
• Prior exposure or familiarity with telecommunications environment highly preferred
• Knowledge of Autodesk CAD or Bluebeam Software highly preferred
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Good organizational, planning and time‑management skills
• Must be open‑minded and have initiative to learn and take on new tasks

• 100% IN‑OFFICE position (not a remote position)
• Garden Grove, CA (Orange County), close to the 22 freeway

$23.00/hour to $27.00/hour (pay based on experience)
