• Coordinates, assists and supports co-workers engaged in verifying and filing shipping documents, and preparing products and materials for shipping or mailing.
• Promotes cooperation and positive communication with co-workers.
• Studies shipping notices, bills of lading, invoices, orders, and other records to determine shipping priorities, work assignments, and shipping methods required to meet shipping and receiving schedules.
• Oversees shipping activities to ensure accuracy, completeness, and condition of shipments.
• Determines space requirements for shipments, routing and legal load limits for company vehicles.
• Inspects and maintains material handling equipment such as lifts and hand trucks.
• Issues written and oral instructions to co-workers and vendors.
• Lifts, positions, and removes production units and materials within the shipping area and on/off delivery truck.
• Loads, stacks, and transports products and materials by truck.
• Wraps, ties, or places products or materials in containers, boxes, or envelopes for shipping or mailing.
• Prepares products and materials for shipping by properly padding and securing.
• Compares identifying information of outgoing shipments to verify against invoices, orders, or other records.
• Maintains records of items shipped or mailed.
• Assembles wooden crates and binds crates and containers with straps.
• Picks up and trucks scrap from work areas.
• Cleans work area, machines, tools, and equipment.
• Performs other routine duties.
• Verifies unit dimensions before preparing shipping containers, boxes, or envelopes.
• Affixes shipping labels on packed cartons or properly marks identifying information.

The expected salary range for this position is between $16.50/hr - $21.61/hr USD. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, education, and other factors permitted by law.
