Accounting Clerk

Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounting Clerk to join a manufacturing organization in Gardena, California. This Long-term Contract opportunity is well suited for someone who enjoys high-volume transactional work, maintains accuracy in repetitive tasks, and handles sensitive financial information with discretion. The role supports day-to-day accounting operations by assisting with invoice processing, records management, and cross-functional financial research.

Responsibilities:

- Review vendor invoices against receiving records and purchase documentation to confirm pricing, quantities, and supporting approvals before processing

- Assign accurate expense coding for supplier invoices and card transactions, then enter data into accounting records and spreadsheets for payment tracking

- Maintain organized accounting files by filing, retrieving, and researching financial documents as requested by the department

- Assist with accounts receivable activities, including posting cash payments and helping investigate outstanding balances

- Prepare and support routine cash-related reporting and provide documentation for audit and internal review requests

- Coordinate with internal teams to resolve discrepancies, secure missing approvals, and keep transactions moving on schedule

- Perform additional clerical and accounting support tasks as needed to help the department meet daily deadlines Requirements - High school diploma or equivalent required; additional accounting training or related education is a plus

- 2-3 years of relevant experience in accounting support, bookkeeping, or clerical finance work preferred

- Working knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, invoice handling, and data entry

- Experience using accounting software such as Quick Books or similar financial systems

- Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage repetitive, high-volume work accurately

- Ability to stay organized, meet deadlines, and handle multiple priorities with limited supervision

- Comfortable working with confidential financial information and demonstrating sound judgment and professionalism

- Effective communication skills and the ability to work cooperatively with colleagues from diverse backgrounds
