Overview
Stationary & Integration Fuel Cell Technician role s is a contract position based in Gardena, CA.
What You Will Do- Stationary test apparatus instrumentation with proprietary and off-the-shelf data acquisition equipment.
- Data acquisition and compilation including system data and performance data.
- Participate in and support stationary testing including test cell configuration, maintenance, and installation/removal of test parts.
- Parts/consumables ordering including inventory management.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical (when necessary) and electrical systems (primary focus), including off-site customer sites.
- Perform routine maintenance of test units, test equipment, and peripheral equipment.
- Contribute to Job Safety Analysis (JSA) prior to commencing work.
- Issue daily, weekly, and/or periodic general and technical reports as needed.
- Some overtime (average: 1 hour per day) and travel (~25%) are expected.
- 4+ years of experience as a Power Plant Technician, Generator Technician, or experience from a transferable industry.
- Experience using instrumentation & controls for generators, compressors, motors, etc.
- Experience troubleshooting generators and/or equipment including mechanical, pneumatic, electrical, PLCs.
- Knowledge and experience in inspecting, testing, diagnosing, and repairing natural gas and electric-diesel generators, automatic transfer switches, etc.
- High voltage and low voltage experience required.
- Ability to read and understand technical manuals and wiring diagrams for systems and instrumentation.
- Experience commissioning new equipment such as generators.
- Good driving record – no accidents or traffic violations within the last 3 years.
- Proficient with Windows, email, MS Word, Excel; willingness to submit results of a computer aptitude test as applicable.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently without direct supervision.
- Adaptability to a changing work environment, including remote test locations or customer sites.
- Fabrication experience (machine shop, MIG/TIG welding) is a plus.
- Salary range: $71,000 - $74,000 per year.
- High voltage certification (1000V AC/DC).
- Knowledge of Fuel Cell systems.
- Strong understanding of commercial/industrial electrical systems and vehicle electrical system diagnosis & repair.
