Human Resources; HR) Generalist

Position: Human Resources (HR) Generalist
We are looking for an experienced Human Resources (HR) Generalist to join a manufacturing operation in California on a contract basis to provide leave coverage. This role is ideal for someone who can quickly take ownership of core HR activities, support a broad employee population, and work effectively with both represented and non-represented staff. The position offers an opportunity to contribute immediately in a fast-moving plant environment while ensuring compliance, consistency, and strong employee support.

Responsibilities:
• Administer regular payroll activities through ADP Workforce Now, including reviewing time records and helping ensure accurate pay processing.
• Track attendance patterns, enforce attendance guidelines, and assist with corrective action procedures when needed.
• Provide day-to-day HR support to represented employees as well as non-represented hourly and salaried team members.
• Apply collective bargaining agreement provisions appropriately when addressing workplace questions and employee matters.
• Respond to employee inquiries related to benefits, payroll, company policies, and general employment concerns.
• Work closely with plant leadership to address employee relations issues and support effective personnel decisions.
• Compile monthly HR reports and maintain workforce data to support business and compliance needs.
• Keep employee files and HR documentation organized, current, and aligned with applicable requirements.
• Deliver detail-focused and confidential HR guidance in a busy manufacturing setting.
