Production Foreman

Job Description

We’re seeking a Production Foreman to oversee all shop operations—upholstery, casework, and finishing. This role manages day-to-day scheduling, materials readiness, and production flow to ensure projects are delivered on time and to Monte Allen’s exacting standards. The ideal candidate brings strong leadership, organization, and accountability, with a deep understanding of the craft.

Salary: $50,000–$100,000 per year

• Oversee daily production across upholstery, woodworking, and finishing departments
• Plan and balance workloads based on project timelines and available labor
• Ensure all materials (fabrics, finishes, hardware) are prepped and available for upcoming jobs
• Supervise and support craftspeople to maintain quality and efficiency
• Participate in weekly production meetings with ownership
• Enforce safety and quality standards in coordination with the QC lead
• Recruit, train, and onboard new shop employees
• Monitor workflow, identify bottlenecks, and proactively propose solutions
• Maintain a clean, organized, and professional work environment

• 5–7 years of experience in a custom upholstery, furniture, or millwork shop
• Strong scheduling and organizational skills
• Ability to read shop drawings and communicate technical details clearly
• Experience managing a multi-discipline production team
• Fluent in English and Spanish (required)
• Calm, solutions-driven leadership style
• Familiarity with materials management, inventory tracking, and workflow systems
