Job Description

Create an outstanding customer experience through exceptional service. Establish and maintain a safe and clean environment that encourages our customers to return. Assist the department manager in reaching sales and profit goals established for the department and monitor all established quality assurance standards. Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions:

Prepare bakery and deli items according to customer requests using proper equipment.

Offer product samples to help customers discover new items or inquire about products.

Inform customers of bakery and/or deli specials.

Provide customers with fresh products, ensuring correct portion sizes to prevent shrink.

Recommend deli or bakery items to customers to meet their needs.

Use bakery equipment such as refrigerators, freezers, slicers, and ovens according to company guidelines.

Prepare foods following temperature logs and cooking instructions.

Measure, prepare, and mix ingredients as per recipes using appropriate utensils and equipment.

Label, package, and inventory ingredients and merchandise.

Check product quality for freshness, reviewing "sell by" dates and taking appropriate action.

Properly use kitchen equipment including stoves, scales, fryers, steamers, etc.

Maintain inventory and stock levels, and report discrepancies.

Maintain proper temperatures in cases and coolers, and keep logs.

Create a welcoming environment, answering questions and making suggestions about products.

Adhere to food safety regulations and safety procedures.

Inspect equipment, report repairs needed, and notify management of any accidents or unsafe conditions.

Work cooperatively in a high-paced environment, managing conflicts professionally.

Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.

Support interactions with minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.

Perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodations.

Qualifications

Minimum Position Qualifications:

Customer service skills
Effective communication skills
Basic math knowledge
Ability to obtain a food handlers permit after employment
